16.3. Payoff Formula after Converting Influence Diagram to Decision Tree

Applies to: PrecisionTree, all releases

I converted an influence diagram to a decision tree. In the converted tree, the path payoff calculation is Payoff Formula, but there's no default formula. But when I create a tree myself, the calculation is Cumulative Payoff. Is something wrong?

Cumulative payoff is indeed the default formula for new trees. But when converting an influence diagram to a tree, PrecisionTree has to honor the values in that diagram, which are specific to each node, so the method is Payoff Formula. Each node has its own formula, but there is no default formula because there's no one formula that would be suitable for all the converted nodes.
