Home → Network Guide → Server Setup → Choose Network License Type
Disponible en español: Escoger el Tipo de Licencia de Red
Applies to:
Palisade Server Manager 6.x/7.x/8.x, with Concurrent Networks only.
If you have an Enterprise Network, please go to Activate Network License.
What are the tradeoffs between an activatable (Trusted Storage) license and a license certificate?
We offer two options for your Concurrent Network license, activatable license (also known as Trusted Storage), and certificate license. (Enterprise Network licenses are offered in activatable form only.)
The majority of our customers use activatable licenses, and that's the type our Operations Department will supply unless they have other instructions. However, in some circumstances, a certificate license may be better for you. Differences between activatable and certificate licenses are minor and are shown in the table below.
In Step 3 of the server install, you will either activate your license or get a license certificate, depending on which license type you prefer.
If Server Manager shows any activated or certificate licenses already installed, it's simplest to select the same type for your new license. If this is your first Concurrent Network license, use the chart below to help you choose.
