3.21. Recovering When a Concurrent Network Client Is Idle

Disponible en español: Recuperar una Licencia Concurrente de Red cuando el cliente está inactivo

Applies to:
Palisade Concurrent Network software 5.x/6.x/7.x, used on network

If the license was borrowed, see Recovering a Borrowed License.

A user opened the Palisade software but isn't actually using it; it's just sitting idle on the computer. Can we recover that license for someone who needs it?

The best practice is to educate your users so that this situation doesn't occur. Explain that use of the software is limited to a certain number of users and ask everyone to cooperate in releasing a license when they're not using it.

Suppose people are careless or forget? You can contact the user, go to the computer, or log on remotely, and do any of these to release the license:

We recommend the first of these, of course. Although it takes a few seconds more, the workbook remains open, so there is no loss of any work done.
